VR and Phantom Limb Pain

After people lose a limb they experience extreme pain from their no longer attached appendage. Some treatments for phantom limb pain is mirror therapy in which patients stare at a mirrored image of their still attached limb and trick their brain into feeling the movements as if they still had their other limb. The patient uses virtual reality to complete tasks as if they had all limbs attached giving relief to the brain by tricking it into feeling like it has all limbs. Sensors are also attached and sense the nerve impulses coming from the brain.
