Social media plays a huge role in our society and it is growing. As people move farther away it is easier to keep close to them through social media. There are positive effects of social media but there is an even greater negative effective: distraction. Aside from the distraction is causes while driving it also causes people to not interact as much and to get distracted while working. We as a society are constantly checking our phones to see if we need to be contacted or how many likes we just got on our picture. In the workplace nothing changes employees are constantly on their phones and this causes a dramatic decrease in productivity.
