In the past, the way people would meet was through a friend, at a party, or even just on the street. Fairly recently, the world of online dating began. There are many websites and apps that people use to meet others. This may be effective for some, but dangerous in other cases. You don't really know a person unless you meet them in person. There are many people that "catfish", so they pretend to be someone they are not. It is also awkward to meet someone through online and then meet them in person. Knowing someone in person is not the same as online. So online dating may be efficient for some people but users of these services need to be aware of everything that can happen.
