Videos games have become an essential part of young’s lives. Many might even argue that a lot of teenage have become addicted to playing video games. According to studies made by the University of New Mexico, "6 to 15 percent of all gamers exhibit signs that could be characterized as addiction."

There are many different factors that can cause a gamer to have video game addiction. The main reason why video games are so addictive is because they are designed that way by the video game designers. According to the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery, like most the the addictions, video game addiction also has emotional and physical symptoms. Some of the emotional symptoms can include: feelings of restlessness and/or irritability when unable to play, lying to friends or family members regarding the amount of time spent playing and isolation from others in order to spend more time gaming. Some of the physical symptoms can include: fatigue, Migraines due to intense concentration or eye strain and Poor personal hygiene.
