This movie was meant to be a joke and an outstanding comedy.
Unfortunately, it is becoming a documentary. The president is complete
idiot-(Trump 2016); the population is full of bigots who crave for violence and
shelter from selfish twisted corporations- (Trumps’ Chicago Rally and even any
of his other rallies, honestly). Keep in mind that Trump is in the lead and
most likely the Republican of nominee was given a 97% chance of winning the
presidency by a Stony Brook political science professor.
The movie
is really unfolding and becoming reality. Forget Trump, this fear extends
beyond him. In the movie the only sane man asked the population what are
electrolytes after they continually insisted that electrolytes are what they
and plants need most importantly (They went on to replace water with an energy
drink full of electrolytes). No one knew what electrolytes were and what they
did, but they saw the commercials and they followed the commercial like sheep.
Looking back at it, I don’t even know what electrolytes are, but if someone
told me that I need them in large quantities, I would think twice of taking
them. People today follow fads and health guru commercials instantly. Think
about how quickly Kale became a trend, or the organic hipster trend, people are
becoming more and more like sheep and replacing their own thoughts with what
the media tells them. Idiocracy was a far extreme of that effect, but we are
rapidly pushing towards that direction.
