Autopilot or Just Pilot?

Many people think that technology will never replace man when it comes from making judgements in intense situations and dire circumstances. But is that really true? The NYCTA effectively decided that they will never allow subway trains to run via computer systems. They instead make sure that human supervision in place even on some automated train lines.

I believe that AI systems and algorithms are better in difficult situations and can replace humans as pilots, drivers, conductors, etc. Multiple accounts of Tesla Drivers have concurred. There many accounts in which the owners of Tesla’s new autopilot sedan were distracted and the car solely avoided the collision. So why is it that people are afraid of autopilot and AI driving. The movie iRobot illustrates the fear that the general population exhibits, in my opinion. And that is why they shy away from full automated driving. However, current technology that people happily greet is nothing less of Autopilot: lane assist, auto brake, parking sensors, blind spot detection and etc. These components are pretty much driving the car and could easily do so. So the fear of Autopilot cars is pretty ironic and absurd.
